A few of the many words written about the CockGlock on the internet.
"I held off on posting this during the Valentines holiday. Now that its over I think its safe to examine the sociocultural implications of COCKGLOCK (or Im the NRA) by WAP Sculpture without being too much of a downer. Intrigued by the bold use of weapon imagery in this one-off sculpture, I was pleased to find that the artist (Billy Pacak) fully intended to stir up notions of power and sex and what guns represent to the masculine ego and fear of inadequacy in our culture.
For me its a conceptual work that examines pistol ownership and male sexual aggression. Guns, compensating for lack of sexual power or cock, as it were.
That being said, it is made from very hard and dense ebony wood and perfectly smooth so it is quite functional. [...] I dont necessarily expect them to be used but their functionality is part of the concept of piece. I wanted the user to feel as if they had something dangerous in their hand.
Even though the piece is intended to confront the viewer and force them to examine the role of power dynamics and violence our culture, he doesnt back away form the possibility that its eventual owner may use it as a sex toy. But, really that would say something equally as interesting. How would the dynamic of meaning shift if a woman used the toy alone; or if a man did; or a variety of couples ?
The possible shifts in cultural meaning are nearly limitless, and endlessly interpretable."
